[REQ] beta version

A beta version with the changes from CVS implemented, using CVS isn't the simplest of tasks, and the 1.50 version is over a year old now. I wouldn't mind a beta version even if it comes with a warning of: not supported yet use at your own risk.

ok, sorry i was just going of the timestamp of the thread, but I guess its been edited many time since then...
