PHP may look similar to C, trust me, it's not ;]

JavaScript is far more similar to PHP - it has weak typing.

(im not a programmer but i know some stuff, so plz dont flame me too badly )
i think java script would be good because it can be compiled on the fly and you could maybe have it write databases to the server like admin lists and then when u add admins on the fly it would, after add one or remove one, recompile it self and reload itself so the admin would be immedialy actived or deactived. (dont know if that would work) or maybe it could be used to bring up guis written in java script where you can select your options by clicking them like a web site (although javascript does tend to not clear its memory as often as it says like when its done with its action it just puts it in trash then clears it later or something like that i heard.

but if im totally wrong about what i just sed above then this reason is right alot of people do know java script. plus using basic would be a bad idea whoever sed that cuz isnt basic only usable by windows?

I'm not suggesting HTML, please read my post carefully. If anything I'm saying that languages like HTML or anyother non-compiled languages are exactly what it shouldn't be.

I vote for small.

Why dont use .NET, it supports Linux with Mono.

http://www.mono-project.com/about/index.html

Mono is a comprehensive open source development platform based on the .NET framework that allows developers to build Linux and cross-platform applications with unprecedented productivity. Mono's .NET implementation is based on the ECMA standards for C# and the Common Language Infrastructure

barely. and C# is too chunky for this, I wouldn't use Java, and C# is bigger/more complete than Java.

Also embedding C# is not really fun

It looks to me like this is coming down to JS vs Small. I vote for JS simply because OOP is something I think would be extremely useful for many developers.

JS will not be difficult for most Small (AMX) developers to learn (if they haven't already). If it turns out Small would be more CPU-efficient than JS, then maybe it would be a difficult choice, but if the difference is negligible or in JS's favor I think JS is the obvious choice.

isnt .net windows only plus its made by microsoft so theres probably tons of security flaws that could allow hackers to take control of your server.

.NET's CLR/CLI is a language platform specification.

It's open, and other people (like Mono) have tried to implement it on Linux.

Microsoft even gives out the source code (under a non-commercial license) to C#, with a console implementation of the JIT, CLR, and compiler, excluding Winforms.
