Also, it depends of whether you are talking about server rates, or client rates, as well as the hardware and bandwidth of each.

I think you're thinking about rates. Tickrate refers to the server refresh rate where higher tick = better bullet registration. Rates are similar and you don't really need to know how they work. For best performance there are a few basic setups for servers with different ticks. Below is the tickrate and then the commands (seperated by a comma) you put into console to set that tickrate: 33Tick Server: More or Less whatever you want 66Tick Server: rate 20000, cl_cmdrate 66, cl_updaterate 66 100Tick Server: rate 25000, cl_cmdrate 100, cl_updaterate 100 Some people prefer for 100tick: rate 30000 but this is optional I personally have been using 25000, 100, 100 all the time playing every tickrate from 33tick funservers to high end 100tick match servers with no problems with reg. My advice is set your rates to the 100Tick Server Config and reap the reqards of better bullet reg. Hope it Helped :]

like 95% sure this is a bot that is just randomly googling results and trying to put it together to form an answer. Mainly because it has links to sketchy ass sites.
