The advice in that plugins thread was good but no one was willing to help me get started porting it to use nvault.

So, after reading again the amxx docs, I managed to finally write my own stable version which does just that.

So It can be done...only advice i can give here is try making this use vault/nvault or whatever other file system since the sandurr version was unapproved due to "writing to a flat file" and "may cause the server to lag".

Just a heads up.

Having it write to a .txt file is nice, but not efficient. It would cause unnessecary cpu usage. Using vault to store this would be better.

That was the advice I was trying to give him.

I was using my info file as an example to show him that it can be made to record all or some of the players names used by each steamid.

He would just have to adjust his plugin to do so.

Allright, here's the plan:

• I'm going to discontinue this plugin, because a very similar one has been made.
• I'll attempt to use the nvault or vault for a second attempt, because the other plugins with similar functionality write to a "flat file" or to SQL.
• @Jimmy Neutron I'll see what I come up with for converting /whois to AMXX. I can't make any guarantees.

I looked at the source code for the /whois plugin, and I'm not up to the task of converting it to AMXX. Maybe someone more experienced would be willing to give it a shot.

Since you are discontinueing this plugin I am going to unapprove it. However you mentioned redoing this into SQL. But that has been done. Check out JGHG's Remember the names plugin
