Hello everyone, and sorry for my bad english!
The thing is i from Russia, and i support only STEAM servers. But i read many russian forums, about many exploits for HLDS last version (6153).

People are outraged about STEAM, no support HLDS more (i mean, valve or steam no more fix any bugs in hlds).

I tried search any servers CS 1.6 (Only Steam), but its poorly. On official STEAM (CS 1.6) Internet Server List 99% server use dproto and etc plugins for acces on server no-steam players (not only from Russia, it's actually for USA, Germany, France, etc).

Idea: Create new ReMastered-Server, where will get all servers from Master-Server and parse with check no-steam access (dproto, etc). Result: on new master server show only steam servers...

Anyway, i post this for one main question: HLDS (Only Steam, without use dproto and other plguins), safe?

There is nothing wrong with using HLDS. It's not updated because it's 17 years old!!!! In fact, Valve has updated it several times. It's called SourceDS and the associated games.

it's no matter. Steam still sell this game and people still played.

@fysiks is right. This game is outdated, and its newer version Source is being updated.
Steam still selling it, because it is his right as the game owner.

It is kinda like the Microsoft Windows XP. Currently the latest version is 10.
Why would you use Windows XP? It is so full of bugs and security leaks.
Here Microsoft is not selling it anymore. Anyways, you would need an old computer to run it.

This old and useless game should be buy only if you are a collector of antiquities
and want to remember the old bugged and full of cheaters game time. If you fell prejudiced,
you could contact steam support to get your money back.

Yes, but it really new game. New engine, new physic. And between this games big different, like GTA and Mafia, almost

Anyway, i mean many people don't like new games. Example, if you look on game Quake, you see, the best Quake III, and champions in 2016 year, runed on Quake III (not Quake 4). Furthermore id Software development new Quake, "Quake Live", based on the best Quake, "Quake III and Quake III: Arena", and in 2015 year steam get this game in game library and add more functions, like VAC, UTF-8 chat, voice chat and more... And i remember, Quake III little older CS 1.6!

Yes, but i can say like you about any game. I mean, Steam can get money from people and don't do anything for any games (new, old, etc).

Yes, it new version, but it still Windows OS. Not to mention Windows 8.0 of course.

Ohh no... I no agree with you! Windows XP the best OS in history of microsoft, for his time. Windows XP with latest updates no have any bugs and security trouble. Of course, about security, Windows XP not for typical users, in this OS don't have any user friendly guard system. But system have users privileges, etc...

And no matter, old hardware or new. Windows XP run very fast and work too. By the way, Windows XP best way for HLDS Server on Windows.

Nononono, SourceMod is addon like AMXModX, I think you mean Source engine.

Valve's need to win money. Today's computer's are way to much powerful and allow very much more sophisticated, realistic and beautiful graphics. So, Valve need to wisely spend their money on their programmer to write code for what today's computer's can output. As long there is way too much demand for the high end graphics computing, simply there is no money for Valve in maintain a game which makes today's computers laugh.

So play the latest game version Valve's maintain or wait for someday:

1. Valve put the game source as open source and it got attention from someone(s) from the community to maintain.
2. Or for someone(s) from the community to find some other open source alternative to replace the closed source from valve.
