I still stand by the fact that whether or not your household has a pistol means nothing when a government has it out to kill you.

I am shocked, I show one really valid reason on how crime has risen, or did no one look at the page? If every criminal in the US knew every civilian was unarmed, well, I dont need to go into detail. Just think about it, all you anti gun people.

We are protected by the fact that if our military starts doing stuff to us that they shouldn't, we assume that our government will put an end to it, and if that doesn't work, then the U.N. will intervene.
Well, the only thing that protect us from that isn't goverments. It's common sense and the fact that military have family too wich for the moment aren't threaten.

I'm sure if the US military started going ballistic, considering it could probably wipe off a large portion of the globe with a few missiles, a few countries would step in.
If the rest of the world would step in they would do what? Wipe off the remaining part of the Globe.

Have you stopped to think that maybe it was done too rushed? And possibly there's more to come to this. Or others countrys much more peaceful don't mean nothing to you?

Without being excesively mean, I have read your arguements, and you are hoping for a best case scenario. But in reality, even you should know that it never works out for the best. In a previous post you mentioned the words respect and fear, and how a gun will not get respect but fear. How many terrorist and criminals are going to respect you for giving up your right to own a gun? They are not going to think that it was real heroic that you decided to give up your guns, they are going to think that it is going to be a lot easier for then to do what they want to you. And I would rather have a gun and put fear into my supposed attacker and deter him from attacking me, then trying to get his respect. And it because there is this lack of fear that criminals and crooks think that no matter what they do, they won't get cause or they may need to spend a few years in jail or prison.

This weekend, do me a favor go down to the local gun range and squeeze off a few rounds of either a .22 pistol or rifle. You'll enjoy it.

Edit, this applies to everyone, and if you have a kid age 8-10(depending on size and maturity) and up, take them too.

This sounds as YOU are FEARED...But why?
I live in germany and i have no fear to get killed by anyone...Why?
I think in America there are so much Tv/Radio stations which spread the FEAR to the public.(btw.: in germany it goes the same way...but i'm not watching TV anymore )
Any news are about crime, attackers, violence, rapes, terror and so on.
Is it possible, that "they" want to fear the people?

I've read a psychological book about that topic..there was stated that anxiously people are easier to control than people without fear!?
Controlling in the meaning of to muzzle the people..to hold em back where they can't harm the system.
The "system" is working flawlessly..it is whealthy but what about you? Are you perfectly happy?(Here in germany a lot of people are unemployed, the economy is going very bad...but the state wastes the taxes for nonsense)
Oh man this is going offtopic...and i hope this isn't true at all...but i have the feeling that there is something wants the people be anxious...
Don't Buy weapons, you don't have to be afraid!

only my 2 cents

Fear is a very powerful tool, and I am not feared nor do I impose fear upon others. But they do know I own a few guns. And with out pointing out any political parties, media tends to make the gun look like the cause of the crime, as well as mislabling the type of gun. If people knew that guns were not a threat to own, the country would be safe and more secure, the only 2 things that are dangerous are old and damaged guns and people who are mentally unstable.

Before I continue this debate, I need some input on if we are talking about local safety from criminals or goverenment control.
