Why are people so upset about this?
  • I would rather play on a Valve server than being placed in an ad-filled comm. server.
  • When you've built up a comm. server with a healthy, high ROP playerbase, you don't have to worry about quickplay.

Who's talking about ads? Ads have not been permitted with quickplay for some time now.

I can agree with most of the points and we already comply with most of them.
But I also see problems with the class limits. We only use this because we had several occasions where we had e.g. 5 Snipers or something like that in a attacking team :-/ And since Valve always says TF2 should be about team play we added a class limit.. because you can't play as a team when most of them are only camping instead of attacking.

I'd like to know how matchmaking/MvM servers work, because I used to use tf_mm_servermode 2, which requires quickplay registration, but we run custom maps/mods/content. And I don't know if valve chunks MvM Servers into that category.. I mean it's kind of different since you can't even get loot.

There is no loot in the normal TF2 game and they also get excluded from Quickplay if you don't comply to the rules. So I'd guess you will get excluded too if you are running modified mvm.

But to be sure you could ask the question on the mail list.

Can someone check if his server getting quickplay traffic?

How they added nocrit in the allowed list and not noweaponspread? Why cant you have a competitive like server with quickplay traffic?

You can see if you are connected to quickplay and there is a plugin to see how someone connected to your server

What does this mean? The server has crits and nospread so i dont think it qualify for quickplay but it says standing good.
