I've fixed my problems with the help of my mate, I've been working on improving SOAPDM with abit of custom things with my other mate to make a more natural feeling DM mod for TF2.

By removing doors and other things I've made maps more free flowing and open/opened up which is perfect for DM!

I can confirm this. On 2 rented servers, with the latest MM/SM snapshots, I get a "failed to load API" error trying to run this.

Oddly enough, it works perfectly fine on a locally run on a l4d2 server on Ubuntu 12.04 (32bit).

Ok. Someone was kind enough to show me what the cause of this is:
glibc needs to be v. 2.15+ if this new stripper build is to run.

Apparently, the issue is fixed if Stripper would use:
libvstdlib_srv.so instead of libvstdlib.so,
and
libtier0_srv.so instead of libtier0.so
Should only require a tweak of the makefile.

Try this build.

It's http://hg.alliedmods.net/strippersource/ (7b6b696412c5)
with one small adjustment: it uses libvstdlib_srv.so and libtier0_srv.so instead of their no-srv counterparts.
For exact changes / full build, see here:
https://github.com/Tabbernaut/L4D2_S...f972796d546ea7

This runs for me on all servers I could test it on (including some on which spumer's build didn't).

Try with SM 1.6. I got some reports that people with 1.5 or older were having problems with it.

unfortunately this still doesn't work with sm 1.6. I've even tried upgrading to mm 1.10 (latest) as well...

any idea what might be causing this?

I have made a new build that should fix the L4D2 lib changes. Click on the snapshot link on the first page and grab the latest (the last one on the page).

No clue. This is the first time I've heard of it not working at all on sm 1.6.
I assume you tried compiling it yourself?
