Hi,

i want to host some CSS gameservers (with Sourcemod) and i need to know how much servers can run on this hardware:

- Intel i7 3770 (4x 3,4GHz, Hyper-Threading)
- 16 GB DDR3-RAM

Are 12 servers or ~280 Slots possible on this machine?

The problem is: i don't have 280 players to test the full servers! ;D
Maybe someone here is hosting servers and has a little bit experience in this.

You can put on bots to test out some of the performance. I don't think you will have a problem setting up 12 servers with those specs.

if you're hosting this from your house (you didn't mention), then your biggest issue might be the internet bandwidth for 280 players.

Even if you're using a service and have them host it, make sure you get enough bandwidth to cover the monthly usage for your servers.

No the server will be in a datacenter. The traffic will be no problem.

You will be fine. I have 20 servers on 8 GB of ram, with 3 2.6 Ghz cpu's and there is no problem.
