I have a large database on magnetic hard drives(SATA), the OS drive of my server. The CPU utilization is low(2 used cores and 6 free), the memory usage is low, yet the web end of my database is really slow. for reference: http://stats.gflclan.com/ . This is what I consider a slow site:
Executed 50 queries, generated this page in 7.4035 Seconds

How can I speed it up? Actions are only kept for 28 days, the awards program runs nightly via windows task scheduler.

Web server: IIS
Database: MySQL

Thanks

I'm using nginx+php-fpm+xcache+memcache and have low execution time.
My database is MariaDB (fork of MySQL).
All awards generated nightly.

Mysql configured as pool-of-threads. And all options set for my memory limit (1G).
All of this works on the virtual machine based on the gentoo linux system.

The current release of HLX:CE (1.6) branch is no longer being improved, The next release of HLX:CE has allot of code improvements that will make it load faster.

From older info most people were able to improve there load speeds by tweaking there MySQL servers eater by moving it do a RAID disk or changing around the my.ini tell they saw an improvement.

Is the server a remote database, and how far away is it?
