hey! i'm trying to set up meta mod an a CSS server on Windows 7

I installed all the correct files in addons and put the .VDF there too.

I restarted my server and tried to type "meta version" but it's not a valid command.

what am i doing wrong? btw, my .VDF looks like this:

"Plugin"
{
"file" "../cstrike/addons/metamod/bin/server"
}

Really, there is no help on this one. I've been trying to get some help but this is getting so complicated that I'm planning on quitting this thing altogether.

For the record, I'm installing Metamod Source on a Listen Server on a Windows 7 based system and on typing "meta" I get "Unknown command"

Nothing can get harder than this.

But the basic reasons for not being able to get this to work is not the instructions that are insufficient or any ambiguity instead its the amount of detail that's required to have a working knowledge of how games work. The coding that goes into it and the Operating System behaviour.

Its particularly frustrating that it used to work earlier(version 1.8.3) at the time Steam didn't make any changes. Currently, Steam has updated the game and since then I've not been able to touch Deatchmatch mod and there seems to exist nothing of the sort called solution

Metamod:Source / SourceMod stopped working after last update for listen servers.

This is not a bug in either Metamod:Source or SourceMod, it cannot be patched by the developers.

The best way to fix this is just to install the Source Dedicated Server (there are plenty of guides around) and stop using the in-game Create Server option.
