Hi Im looking for some help here i see lots of posts on this issue but none of them have helped me with my problem. I have installed metamod and sourcemod in their right places numerous times at this point and I keep getting that same error. The metamod.vdf is in the correct place, and ive even attempted to edit the gameinfo.txt which all that did was crash the server. can anyone help me out with this install at this point i just reinstalled and I'm going to start from scratch.

You're right, there is no help around and this game is massive in size so you can't just simply keep backing up and restoring after every corrective step to troubleshoot.

Surely this is a pain.
There has to be something with the releases or the Steam update thats recently happened.

LOL i had the same issue except i was stupid enough to put the "addon" folder and .vdf file in "Steam\steamapps\steamid\team fortress 2\tf" instead of "steam\steamapps\steamid\source 2007 dedicated server\tf"

epic fail. i suppose this is what these people are doing.
