I think that main problem that happen is that mods other than FFA are dying on steam CS.
Even i don't think that no steam is a solution and it's somehow make things worse for other steam server.

France status on CS 1.6:
A few steam servers.
Less than ten FFA STEAM servers running with people on it (i mean >8 during 8h per day).
Mods are now inexistant and launch of new mods are really hard.
The few left modded servers are dying (UFB Jailbreak, for example my CoD...), when they used to be full H24 one year ago.

A good example is supehero mod. It's probably one of the coolest mod on CS 1.6.
No viable steam server in european timezone.
Probably hard to create a one and keep people on it.

The reason is obvious : CSGO.

Still, i don't think that no steam is a solution, but sometimes i can understand some of those running them.

I do, and there's nothing strange about it. I have legally obtained my copy of Counter-Strike 1.6 and I still play on non-Steam servers, and I know a lot of people that do. The reason is that there are more players on these servers, making it more fun to play. I would play on Steam-only servers if there were some in my country, at least ones with a decent amount of players online throughtout the day.

Ok dude is your problem, your steam, does not matter but is not a valid reason to use non-steam server.

And is because users like you that administrators, post in this forum looking support to non-steam servers.

I hosted some Steam servers long ago, I shut them down because they were empty all the time... the only thing that is good in Non-Steam servers is you find fun playing with real people that's all.

Make your server Steam-only or not, it's your choice, but if you choose non-steam server, of course you are facing with many kinds of hack, bugs, exploit, ...., so don't insult us because you can't handle those problems.
