In the Valve Wiki it say "sv_forcepreload - Force server side preloading."
Ime unsure if this Description is correct, it would make more sense if it would force Clients to preload Content (cl_forcepreload).
I cant imagine which Ressource the Server could even preload, i mean, its not even useful for Servers with Purity since it just checks the File Hash or?

I like your avatar pic.
...and I'm just as curious as you.
Explanations for half of the commands in the source engine are so vague, it's irritating.

Okay, i looked up the source 2007 SDK and found out:

If sv_forcepreload or -preload is active and -nopreload and -nopreloadmodels arent set
Models will be Precached when the Map loads.

It seems that this Cvar is really for Servers only since even the file contains an sv_. Still ime wondred that it updates a download Progress Bar, did the Server GUI of the Engine ever contained a loading Bar for Maps?

cl_forcepreload seems to be registered as Cvar, but never used.

You're aware that cl_ cvars only exist on the client side, yes?

They're specifically for players to set in their clients and aren't necessarily controllable from the server (the ones that can be are marked with FCVAR_SERVER_CAN_EXECUTE)

I am, i just dont know how the compiled code will look like since the filename contains an sv_ and there only is the sv_forcepreload Cvar, still in the code seems to be updating gui elements which makes me wonder > Click
