When I am running my server and when some people join it wont upload Everything they need. For example. If on the server I am running the map de_winterdust, they players cant play unless they find the tundra.wad and install it for themselves and install in their cstrike folder. WHY ? Its on the server so how come they cant upload it from my server? Do I need to add any lines to make this happen? This is not the only map that does that either. Please help. I am a noob at servers. Anybody Help. LOL

you need a .res file for maps that didnt compile with wadinclude
the .res file forces the client to have all necessary files included in the map

I know I'm a noob, but where do I get one or do I modify an exsisting one? Also where do I put it (What folder).

I really dont know how to modify one.But i know you'll have to put it on your "Maps" folder.

I figured it out. WOW alot of searching.

In case anyone wants to know.
create a txt (notepad)

for instance (as_evil)

It wont upload the evil.wad file

so make txt file and type


//as_evil

maps/as_evil
evil.wad


then save as -- as_evil.txt

then change it to -- as_evil.res

and install it into your maps folder.

I had to open a zip file in order to change the format.. lol but it worked. Yay

I am going to work on this server until i have the best server on cs. lol thanks to everyone that has helped me. It will be a place to play that allows no cussing/awp/auto. So Kids will have a place to play without the bad language. I hope everyone will check it out when I get it finished.

I play steam. the awp is such a nooob weapon though lol. 1 shot wonder. Its a better game with a little skill.
