It'll be before that.

Also, you should probably make a mapcycle file.

It has something to do with exposing your external IP, but I don't know.

So it just turns out you can't use TF2's "Create Server" to create anything but a lan server.

ended up using srcds

Thats not rue. I use to start a listen server by opening console, and just typing "map mp_mymap" and boom there we go. Anyone can join this. Besides opening the ports in your firewall you should also do the portforwarding from your router.

Back to the topic. I have the sourcemod stuff in the correct folder but i dont get metamod nor sourcemod to run in tf2. I read somewhere that i may have to start the game with -insecure parameter. Still doesnt work. any Advices?

I have been having the same problem; everything is installed correctly but the stupid console says that it cannot find or recognize sourcemod.
It will say things along the lines of "can't find sourcemod_mm.dll" or say that with some other file.
It might also say "sourcemod_mm.dll is not present, not executing".

I can't take it anymore, I have looked everywhere and done everything and it still won't work. I even tried the hl2 update and that didn't work because it is not designed to support tf2.

I know that everything is in the right place, even triple-checked to make sure, but still the mod is not recognized. I know I put everything in the tf directory, but why won't it work?

I forgot to mention that i am using f2p version of tf2, and I have the windows 7 operating system if that helps

the directory to the tf folder is; (C / program files / Steam / steamapps / (username) / Team Fortress 2 / tf

I seem to recall seeing in some patch notes that the Source engine won't load plugins anymore unless it's started with -insecure.
