Hello, I'm having a problem.
I'm using the srcds thingy to host the game and I want to be able to host and join.
But the problem is that my account says that the application is already running, so I can have the server running but I'm unable to open the game.
What do I do?

(Is 740 the CS:GO dedicated server app id?)

you can't host a dedicated server and play on it with the same machine!
you can only host a listen server if you want to play on the same machine

Not true, if you start csgo first and start the server after you will be able to both play and host the server on same machine

i'd recommend using steamcmd to create a dedicated server. It's a hassle to work with also.

After working with CSGO, I can confirm that even dedicated servers give the same problem. You have to start CSGO first then the dedicated server itself.

People, I have already "fixed" it.
I have to open the game, and then open the dedicated server!

Plus, I always use SteamCMD to download the dedicated servers.

It's possible that the problem originates from the app IDs? TF2 one is 440 and the dedicated server for it is 232250.
Maybe 730 and 740 are too close, I don't know.

(By the way, SRCDS shouldn't be using my account to host the game.)

If i start my server but not CSGO, players will be able to join no problem.
If i start my server and then later start CSGO, players CANNOT join my server.
HOWEVER, if i start csgo and then start the server after steams "starting csgo" UI goes away, I can play on my server as well as other users.

Reason:
When starting up CSGO, it automatically uses the 2015 port on your computer. The server will do the same unless otherwise set. The server wont share the same port normally due to whatever reason (i'm assuming). So when you load up both your game then your server back to back, they will both stay on that one port.

I say, if its possible to run two CSGO copies on one computer (Sandboxie, look it up) then its possible to join your own server on the same PC.

To verify the server is using the proper 27015 port rather than the 27016 port after loading go, just type 'status' into the console to check the IPort.
