You have to understand this isn't about the product. It's about the principle of it all. The point of open source is the support for a new generation of programming and community effort. We encourage and release things publically and with source code so that we may grow and learn as a community. In this case, it's not just encouragement, it's the law.

The only way to "override" the GPL is to receive explicit permission from the holder of the license. In this case, AMX Mod X is not in fact the holder of the license, MetaMod is since AMX Mod X is developed under MetaMod. However as luck may have it, BAILOPAN is a part of both, so it doesn't really make a difference.

One thing I fail to understand is, MysticDeath has been distributing this Zombie Mod of his for quite some time now. Why have people just gotten angered over it? Or did people have a lot of bottled up words to say before this thread was made?
