Hey guys, I'm trying to run a CSS Server, but I have some questions. What is faster, in other words, what will make the server run better, Mani Admin Plugin or SourceMod? Sorry if it has been asked, and sorry if I sound like a noob. I've been using MAP for 2 years and am just now tentatively switching to SM.

SM since its updated frequently and probably coded a little more efficiently. Mani doesnt have the time to edit his plugin so its not the most stable at the moment. SM has most features with addon plugins but not all, getting there.

So trying to understand SM. So far I've got it working, and I'm definitely getting rid of Mani. I have downloaded several plugins. These plugins were already available in Mani, for the most part:
-Advertisements
-AFK Manager
-SM Downloader
-Quake Sounds
-SuperCommands
-Map Configs
-Team Bets
-SOD Stats

What else would you recommend? I'm also installing SourceBans, because it looks interesting and is Similar to Mani Web Admin. I've recompiled all of them but SOD Stats, just to make sure they work "

With Sourcebans update I would think its better than before.

That should make it close to Mani, look into dynamic menu to make your own menu with commands. Just search for these plugins here: http://www.sourcemod.net/plugins.php

Hopefully, the server will handle the load of plugins
Now I just have to get to work and get them working on ym server. I think I'll look into dynamic menu later on.
I was thinking, wouldn't it be nice if we had a sticky thread for all those converting to SM and are nostalgic of the mani commands.

To be honest I've found mani to be more stable and more error free, but SM is just plain better in every other way.

There is no max on the plugin, it matters if they were written well. Older, non updated plugins tend to be worse than newer plugins because of the updates that have come out since then for authors to use. I use about 33 total. Documentation is what is available.

Yea. I'm having a problem with the database.cfg :/ when I set my db config:

The server stops responding on restart (It won't boot up). Setting the database to another remote host allows the server to boot up, however I am unable to connect to that remote host.

The driver should be mysql. Make sure its formatted correctly too.

meh, I think my host doesn't allow remote SQL connections. I've given up on that...
