Just for the record one can make client's download a .cfg (or other files for that matter) using precache_generic. Not sure what limitations are imposed on it, but it's worth a shot IMO.

What's logged in the AMX logs on system start?
What's returned in the console when you try the command?

And where was the .cfg file you tried it with located?

The name was exactly right, the file was in configs folder.

Was "bastard.ini" connected to the server at the time?

And is there a config file named "player" in your configs folder?

Or did you maybe misread the documentation ;-)

Does it have to be ini? I have it as in .cfg, it was at my amxmodx/configs folder..

Does it also have to be named "player" (.ini)?
