Plugin: Hitzone Practice
Version: 0.1

Commands: /hzp - Opens the Hitzone Practice Menu
Description: HzP makes it possible for every player to adjust their own attack hitzones. You can practice headshots, legshots, or any other specific hitzone while everyone else is still able to play normally and do damage to any hitzone. *Knife attacks are not effected by this.
nVault: Hitzones are saved so you do not have to readjust your hitzones everytime you play. Entries older than a week are auto removed.

From looking at the code I would say it's more like if you set the hitzone to the head and chest then your are not able to do damage to the rest of the body parts.

Very nice idea !

I tested and the Chest and the Left Leg are not working properly. From some angles isn't possible to take damage, while with the rest of the body parts, this fail doesn't happen.

I believe there are better ways to achieve this.

get_user_hitzones is bugged.




For those of you who want to understand better what this plugin does:


This plugin aims to block the damage on specific body parts, so you can only be able to take damage to the ones you wish, helping you practice.


With the command /hzp you get a menu like this:

The menu keys work like toogles. The color of their letters switches between White and Grey.

White = The body part is not selected. You do damage by shooting at this body part.

Grey = The body part is selected and blocked from damage. You do no damage by shooting at this body part.


Examples:

1. If you select all body parts except the Head, you will only be able to kill by headshot.

2. If you select all body parts except the Left Leg and the Right Leg, then you can only kill a enemy by shooting his legs.

I tried testing the hitzones from various angles and they seemed to work fine. Are you sure it's the method used and not the way hitzones work in general?

Try enabling the right and left arms when you are unable to do damage to the chest, then see if that works. If it does then I would assume that the left or right arm hitzones were blocking the chest, so essentially you were hitting one of the arms, not the chest. In the meantime I'll look for other methods.

Here's an example showing how the arms are blocking the chest when the player is idling.

Good point. The Chest could had been covered by the arms. I tested closely and it works fine.

About the Left Leg, I discovered the exact problem. It happens when you shoot it from ahead around the knee in certain angles. It seems that part is considered as the Right Leg, which is awkward. I could only hit the Left Leg, when I selected damage on the Right Leg too. And I was testing it really really close.

But...

I was testing with a bot. I tested with a real player and it works like a charm !

So I think there's just a minor fail and maybe the problem resides on the bots.

so basically this plugin allow different players to choose their own hitzones independently of the other players, even if being in the same server/round ? (understood a bit from Sun Aloe's post, thanks).

seriously, I didn't understand anything from the main post, and it's not necessary to test a plugin just to understand it..

please make a full description in the main post about everything related .

It's basically a plugin to practice your hitzones. For example if you want only head shot,
you will click on head and then whenever you shoot on the enemy you will not make any
damage to him if you hit him other than the head part.
