Not sure what the deal with this is, but it will not list the active player count. It will show the current map and even tick "time played" as players are on the server. However it will not actually track players.

What is the deal with this?

Do note that I am running this on a dedicated Linux server with full control over everything. So if something is being blocked that I am unaware of I can easily unblock it.

Well after looking for more logs. I checked the logs on the web server and noticed this at the bottom:

Code:
DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Table './skillzse_data/geoLiteCity_Location' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed at .//HLstats.plib line 185.
Unable to execute query:
SELECT city, region AS state, name AS country, country AS flag, latitude AS lat, longitude AS lng FROM geoLiteCity_Location a inner join hlstats_Countries b ON a.country=b.$
Table './skillzse_data/geoLiteCity_Location' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed
Think this might have something to do with the issue so I am researching how to resolve this now.

That was the issue. Emptying the table geoLiteCity_Location solved the issue. I'll populate it later so the players location will be accurate soon.

edit
On second thought I'll just go back to use the .dat file. No more database lookups.
