Newsstand is a plugin that provides servers with up to date news from RSS feeds that the server administrator configures. For example, if you have it setup to use Valve's RSS news feed, players in-game will be notified when there is a Counter-Strike Source update, a game is available for preload, etc.
Players can also view all of the latest news from these feeds through ShowMenus (a.k.a. AMX menus) and browse the news page associated with them. This can be accessed by either typing
news in console, or saying the value of the CVAR 'news_trigger', which by default is
news.
