This is fixed as revision 2917.

I am attaching a binary here. Initially I was worried about backwards compatibility, but then I realized the initial functionality was only half committed. This was indeed breaking out of the funciton if logs were blocked. So, in reality, there should be no problems.

But just in case -- please PM me to re-open this topic if you discover any problems.
