Reply With Quote #1

Hello,

Currently when I play CS 1.6 my FPS is only 100 after I changed my old config.cfg with a new one. My question is if there is a way to have FPS of 500 because my computer is new and I think he can do better than 100 FPS? What should I do?

Computer Description:

System:

Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2 (I am waiting for 3 )

Computer:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
6300 @ 1.86GHz
1.86GHz, 1.0GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS

Change the client-side cvar "developer" to 1 and turn off V-sync. Is it a complete waste of time to want more than 100 FPS? Yes.

First of all thanks it increased my fps by 60!

Is there anything else I can di to improve my fps?

***To me high FPS is very important since I mostly play on scoutzknivez and surfing maps.

type "Developer 1" in console.

Turn Vertical Sync off.

It is gay and rigged and really too easy and non legit for 180+ fps for scoutzknivez and surf IMO.

I believe a fps higher than the refresh rate of your monitor is pointless. Also a lot of people won't notice more than 60 fps. If you have a CRT monitor, set the refresh rate to 60, open a white window and see if you notice it flashing. If you can't, I doubt you'll see more than 60 fps.

FPS on a server is different then on a client, FPS on a server would mean less latency for players on that server.
A client with more then 83FPS is COMPLETELY pointless, and is infact a waste of computer resources.
So yeah I agree w/ you.
