Hello,

there is a server-crasher going around. You can fix it by setting "sv_allowdownload" to 0.

Could we have a bit more detail into this? This doesn't justify me changing this cvar.

It does, since you should have a FastDL anyway and therefore you won't need that CVar.

People flood CNetChan::RequestFile / CNetChan:: DenyFile until the server will lag or be unable to handle the requests which results in a crash.

If they are using the exploit which I'm describing, you can fix it by yourself by setting the CVar "sv_allowdownload" to 0.

Code:
sv_allowdownload 0 // Enables/Disables downloading from the gameserver. Will not be needed, if you are using a FastDL.

If i set sv_allowdownload 0 , new players will never connect on my server.

Only if you don't using fast HTTP download on your server you have this problem. But if you have fastdl wia HTTP, you can set sv_allowdownload 0 and all files will be downloaded wia fastdl.
