Hi Tony.

I am currently using IRCRelay on our TF2 servers (just switched from SourceIRC due to the memory leak) and I was wondering if it would be possible to use IRCRelay in some way to forward the admin SMAC messages so that our admins on IRC spot them for all servers.

IRCRelay uses a simple /irc trigger for players to send messages to IRC and I had a quick look at the SMAC translation file wondering if it would just be a simple case of ading /irc before the SMAC messages, but I'm sure it wouldn't be that easy, so I haven't dabbled as yet :-)

Would this be a feature that could easily be added? We would find it very useful indeed.

This is a good idea and it looks very easy to add. Should the admin messages be sent to the "ticket" channel or the "relay" channel?

Oh thats great news. If I understand what you mean correctly, I would prefer the ticket channel personaly, as I have all server chat going to a dedicated IRC channel, and the /IRC tickets going to the admins channel so they are easier to spot without the rest of the server chat.

I'm not sure if you saw my post in the sourcemod request forum but I'll link it just for info as there was no response from anyone over the weekend.

It will be awesome if you can do this Tony. Thanks again for looking into it.

Oh wow, I read it too quickly and thought you meant that you currently used SourceIRC. I'll have to take a look at it when I get a chance since it's not built-in to SourceMod. Well at least SMAC now has SourceIRC support.

Edit: What version of IRCRelay are you using? If it's 2.5.0 then it should be just as easy to add.

Ahhh darn it, foiled again hehe :-)

Well, until last night I was using SourceIRC but it has a memory leak and with multiple servers running it was slowly killing the dedi after about 14 hours uptime.

So I switched to IrcRelay last night/this morning and finally got it all setup
this evening. I have to say that now I have got my head around it I like it a lot.

Yes, I am using the latest version 2.5.0. Fingers crossed its possible in IRCRelay but if not I may have to ask you nicely if you can use your skills to see if you can find the memory leak in SourceIRC, as I'd swap back to it just for the SMAC feature for sure :-)

Turns out that IRC Relay support was just as easy to add (r289). It's setup to only send messages to channels labeled as "private".

Someone requested SourceIRC support a while back so this worked out fine.

Brilliant news, looking forward to seeing it in action. Thanks so much for all that work mate. With several servers up this will prove invaluable to us.

On a general note. Since the rebuild, SMAC has been relatively quiet in detecting anything and I was starting to worry, but yesterday it went into overdrive and picked up a number of things across the servers as well as temp banning 3 players for sv_cheat violations, so all is well for sure.
