Hey everyone
A couple weeks ago I spun up an Ubuntu 18 VPS
running linux GSM to deploy a Counter Strike Source Server.
My friends and I notice that hte server starts to stutter at times, as if we had a bad framerate or a bad latency. Despite getting on avg ~20 ping for each of us, we all cumulatively know it has something to do with the server.
Server Specs:
CPU:
1 vCore
RAM:
2048 MB
Storage:
55 GB SSD
Bandwidth:
2.99 GB of 2000 GB
What could be my problem? This is a really old game and shouldn't be giving me issues. Any advice on this would be highly appreciated.
Also, I'm not sure if LinuxGSM is the right way to go about administrating the server deployment. I am strugglign changing the MOTD and even using RCON also. But, those are minor issues in comparison to the stuttering we're all experiencing.
Some help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am not against redeploying the server, in particular if anyone has a decent modern-ish guide in which I could follow. Most cloud hosts don't have versions of linux lower than bionic
