Hello,

I remember having this problem in the past but not sure what resolved it. I uploaded a new map to the server and synced the fdl. Some clients cannot get the map, it says it is trying to dl the bz2 but after a min it quits and gives them missing map error. I have several other players that got the map with no issue. I have removed the map for server and mapcycle and then the fdl. Restarted the server to see all mention of the map gone. Then reinstalled as before but still same issue for same clients. Is there something I can look at to resolve?

before you bz2 check the file size

dont bz2 files From 150MB and above
bz2 under 150MB


otherwise you need to tell every client to change command lunch option csgo steam

which its hard, just put it raw +150mb maps file without bz2 in fastdl

Thank you for your response. I had never heard of this size limit before. I just wonder why some clients get the same map file with no issue? Also have larger maps that I have never had this before. I do have a test client available to try this option with. Always learning

just to make sure you at same page with me

if you put +150mb maps raw without bz2 in fastdl

you will pass -maxdownloadfilesizemb restriction so you will not have issue with client downloading maps over +150mb

here is what happen in csgo console when i join server:

Downloading http://fastdl.website/csgo/maps/surf_ace_fix.bsp.bz2.
Download finished!

Skipping existing file http://fastdl.website/csgo/maps/surf_ace_fix.bsp.

First Attempt Download [bz2]: so what happen is server start downloading first bz2 file + checking [ -maxdownloadfilesizemb check client limit default is 149MB ] then give download complete if not it will give Error downloading and try Second attempt


Second Attempt Download [bsp]: Downloading bsp + without checking [-maxdownloadfilesizemb]


note: you can test it by you self go to game/maps and delete map over 150mb and rejoin the server see if downloadable so you will understand more.
