Suspected of using speedhack (HL2DM)

Hi,

Today a server admin contacted me and said that i was being accused of using speedhack this is what i got.

[smac_speedhack.smx | 0.8.5.1] Chaos' (ID: STEAM_0:1:22525316 | IP: 86.82.155.152) is suspected of using speedhack.

The weird part is that i´ve never used any type of hack and i personally hate people using it can anyone here maybe explain me how its possible that something like this happens and if it happened to anyone before?

The server operator should check what your ping is and if you actually used a speedhack. Sometimes, the speedhack check misreads lag for actual hacking.

My ping is always fine on the server i dont really lagg so its probably not that.

I've stood next to a friend before that walked away from his laptop and his mouse made him spin around and around fast. This then made the speedhack show heaps. Rule of thumb for me, check them out if possible. If its 1 detection I'd probably ignore it, but make note of it.

that sounds like spinhack... are you sure ur not confusing those?

not to mention ppl do that for fun and ive never seen 1 spinhack entry so far
