Apparently the second update broke speed (the m_flMaxspeed property to be precise). Something is changed in the way it behaves. We might be setting speed at the wrong time now (PreThinkPost). Someone also mentioned that speed a client side setting now. We'd like this to be confirmed.

walk speed setting in CLIENTSIDE
I hope this isn't true. Though speed settings doesn't really need to be at the server, this is bad for mods.

Temporary fix:
As a workaround you can switch speed method to LMV and convert speed values.
  1. Change zr_classes_speed_method to "lmv" (in zombiereloaded.cfg).
  2. Convert speed in zr_spawnprotect_speed (zombiereloaded.cfg) and all classes (playerclasses.txt) to LMV values using this conversion formula (or the attached tool):
    lmv speed = ((prop speed offset + 250) / 250) * 300

    where:
prop speed offset is the current speed
lmv speed is the new speed value to use

The LMV speed method has some side effects. Jump speed and fall speed is affected. In addition the weapon recoil is a bit different, but I don't think it affect bullets.

Make a backup of the class file so you don't need to convert back again if/when there's a fix. Until then, we need help figuring out how to properly set speed again, if it's even possible now.

Speed converter
Made a small graphical tool for Windows to convert speed values. Use one line per value. (Requires .NET 3.5. It might also work with Mono for Linux and Mac users.)

Thanks for the update, rhelgeby. Looks like it's back to LMV speed values for now.

I might have something although im not 100% sure. (I havent played css in so long and im not sure how speed broke or how it worked before) But i noticed that changing just the m_flMaxspeed prop in prethinkpost seemd to do nothing. I got it work via extension but it might not be perfect (it seemed constant i was running for a long period of time at the same speed) The only thing i noticed was it changed speed of players walking and speed of players crouched too i believe. Im not sure if this happened before aswell. Ill finish up the extension (for windows) for testing maybe and see if people find it to be realtively similiar to before. I just need to add a foward for other plugins. rhelgeby feel free to pm me and ill send you the extension src and you can have a look at if it works like it used to. Like i said i havent played css in a long time and i used lag movement before. So not sure how this one used to work

Great!

Hopefully we should be able to put together something, without adding dependency for another extension.

First step is to get it working, with extension or not.

Second is to see how this affect walk and crouch speeds. If we could control those individually that would be perfect.

For reference, default running speed with pistol or knife is 250.

I found an easy way around it. I just checked the users buttons. There will be a native for user in crouch user walking and user running. Ill probably have a version to test today or tomorrow

Until this is fixed, you must convert to LMV speed values and change speed method to LMV in zr_classes_speed_method.
