This is pretty much what I'd expect, GSPs making clients set up tokens with their own accounts so they are responsible for any blacklist plugins.
In my opinion it's better than the alternative where a whole IP is blacklisted (even non CS:GO games) because one client messed with sv_tags or added an 'illegal plugin'
I'd say this is very much in favor of GSPs, given that they aren't the ones setting up their accounts for tokens instead of their clients.
Plus the whole changing IP business, it happens occasionally with GSPs. It's a good thing for everyone that favorites can be moved.

That's quite the leap.
Do you not own the game for the server(s) you're hosting? Do you not have someone helping you run the servers that you can trust to use their token? The limit to the amount of servers is 50 and they are already reevaluating it, if you can run that many servers I think you can afford two copies or at least have someone else to rely on for their token.
CS:GO is one of the biggest games on steam and is on sale for 50% a few times a year, I'm surprised that there's backlash against this decision.

I'm fairly certain all you are doing is linking the servers to your steam account, I don't think of it as a big problem.

Seriously Valve, all you had to do was port the inventory checking functions from TF2 to csgo....

You mean the ones that can now be gotten around because TF2 imported the weapon drop code from CS:GO?

Valve easily can fix that you know. The fact that they haven't is just half stupidity, half cheapness.

The issue of owning the game is not nearly as costly as owing a phone number. What is next they want proof of employment and a mortgage payment?
