I don't track it because its just bloat. Why add an extra field for every player record when nobody has that item.

The top10 sound seems to be playing for randomly ranked people. Sometimes it plays the normal blip but someone that was rank 42 got the trumpet. I couldn't seem to figure out a pattern as to who got which sound but I think there might be a small bug there.

I noticed that a bit in testing, I have no idea whats causing it though.
Only thing I can think is if the value for the player's rank hasn't been retrieved from the database in time when it checks.

Also our members asked for weapon specific ranking, is that possible? For instance who are the players with most compression blast kills or most huntsman kills, etc.

I think this would be possible yes..
We do already have the compare page, here you can compare weapons information between players..
