I've tried to trace through posts to find some info but i seem to just get myself lost.


after the microtransaction update was realeased (manco) sourcemod broke. all i can do is change maps, i can't slay or kick or use any other command really.

I tried to update to a 1.3.5 build without luck. is there any explanation to what broke and what changed?

SourceMod should have autoupdated on your server. If you are running SDK Hooks i believe is the only thing that should need a manual update (the thread is somewhere on here D

Try a manual reinstall and see if it will autoupdate then?

Huh? There is an autoupdate function?

Even if there was, I doubt it would update to shapshots...

Auto updates only update SM's gamedata, and only if you're on a release version (which the poster is).

If the TF2 ext is not also updated, there are two natives that will crash if any plugin calls them. He could have other gamedata that needs updating. You mentioned SDK Hooks which is a common one, but other plugins, or extensions, like TF2items, could require new files as well.

my head hurts.

as of now the plugins on the server is for ranking and goomba... both of which work. sourcemod stock plugins like slap and slay crash us.

Ok this is what I did,
a) Save any config files you may need(such as admins.cfg, database.cfg)
b) d/l 1.34 release version http://www.sourcemod.net/downloads.php
c) d/l metamod for you OS http://www.sourcemm.net/
d) create your vdf http://www.sourcemm.net/vdf
e) Fresh install metamod + Sourcemod(meaning delete old one)
f) put the vdf file in addons folder
g) so right now you have the core of sm, restart servers>observe logs and odd behavior
h) if all is well put in any saved config files and 1 plugin at a time>restart again observe logs and odd behavior, type sm plugins list and sm exts list, check for errors. I did this for all of my plugins and extensions.
i) if it is setup to your specification you may need to hunt down specific gamedata files. The search may help you. I would keep the install light as possible. Others will negate that, but to each his own.
j) Now update the main build with a working snapshot such as http://www.sourcemod.net/smdrop/1.4/...d-1.4.0-hg3137
k) during these snapshots the config files always get written over, so I keep a backup of mine for this reason. Put in config files.
Again look in logs and check for errors a well as looking at sm plugins list and sm exts list.

Anyways that's what I do to make things work, not 100% fool proof, but it works...most of the time. And for the record the above snapshot works well for me.

SDKhooks Gamedata file here http://tsunami-productions.googlecod...ooks.games.txt right click save as u/l too your gamedata directory or copy+paste.

TF2 gamedata http://hg.alliedmods.net/releases/sourcemod-1.3/file/f98126699061/gamedata/sm-tf2.games.txt <-This will(should) update on SM upgrade
