So for quite some time now I have wanted to make my own freak fortress 2 boss and when I tried hosting my own private freak fortress 2 server on linode to test out bosses I did actually try to rig existing models from sketchfab that are not up on there anymore which sucks because I am having a hard time finding decent good looking models that would work and I suck at 3d modelling.

The boss I wanted to make is based on the Asterix comic book series from France which I used to read as a kid I also watched several of the movies growing up and also played the awesome 90's arcade game from Konami.

Trying to rig these models in the first place was not fun at all because my models kept on glitching when testing animations in the model viewer such as arms going through the head of the model even after double checking and fixing multiple times the weight paint and even just starting the rigging process from the beginning and eventually I kind of just gave up for a while because I got so sick of my models being glitchy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEimJFT0IH8 this is where I got most of my inspiration from.

As for the boss mechanics I obviously want it to be a duo boss where two players can become either Asterix or Obelix and basically I want to it to remain faithful to the lore of the comics where they are insanely overpowered.

One of the things I would like to add is that for Asterix at low health a magic potion is able to be collected on the map which fills the rage meter to 100 percent refills the boss health restores any lost boss lives and stuns all nearby players also 1 hit kills become active and hits on players cause them to fly up into the sky like in the comics before dying.

As for the attacks one of them could be the grappling moves from the arcade game seen in the video .

Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am kind of new to boss making.

And of course for Obelix instead of potions there would have to be a large piece of food that basically does the same thing.

Obviously that is not all I would like to add but this is part of how I want my duo boss to be played and as I already know how to write scripts of my own it should not be as hard.

The music is something I have been thinking about and I am thinking this would fit perfectly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntG_EEfpasM either that or this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btPJPFnesV4 because it was used in one of the movie trailers.

I can't really help you with the entire concept because i am not very good at source, but if you want to go back to rigging sometime in the future you can learn with stuff like these or like this hope you will be able to reach your objective.

Those two resources was what I checked out when trying to rig the models originally but my guess is that my original model was probably not intended to be used in a video game but in some type of movie which might explain the glitches I experienced although I still managed to learn a lot about blender and how the models interact with the source engine in the process .

I might just have to ask somebody to make proper models instead to save me the headache.

I will just link some playermodels for GMOD since it's the easiest way to rig a model for FF2, you probably already saw them but we never know. They were made for MMD and then ported to GMOD as playermodel.

I just checked it models look awesome even better than the models I tried to use previously and it's exactly what I was looking for.

also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62QO...iOgOq7shhHnEf5 was of great help when troubleshooting my models besides learning the ropes of modelling for source as well
I have never really bothered with checking out the garrys mod workshop but when looking for models to use I can see why it would be a perfect option.
