Your computer isn't fast enough. Map changes put alot of stress on the CPU and memory, and if your server isn't FAST, then you'll have that.

someone suggested that more memory would help, and it probably would. That's why all the rented servers usually have 1 gb of memory or more, and that's why you don't notice any lag on the map changes.

well thats kind of weird because our other server is a slower computer and it don't lag on map changes just during the game lol. But i can see your point. One good thing is the playing dosen't lag hardly at all but it dose only have a penium 4 2.0ghz processor with 256mb memory so if i was to upgrade it to at least 512 to a gig then that should take care of it right?

Thanks for the info.

Yea. When the server runs a map change your ram is really abused. You are probably running the server fine with 256 but when the time for the load comes and to recache everything, your gonna really use it all up. 512 with one server should be plenty.

512 is pushing it, it's best to go with 1 gig, I run it with 768 and it still gives me lag for about 10 seconds or so. Course I'm playing while it's loading, so it may be because of that.

Ask other people, that when your not playing, if the server still takes long. It may just seem to take long for you because it's having to load the map for the server AND you.

try to disable metamod and let it change maps and see what happens.

also, with metamod running, type stats in the console and post it.
