I'm running a server windows based for CS:S...obviously with SM 1.2...and about a fifty of plugin.... everything works great...

my question is: it's a good idea to change it for a linux version???

Pro? Cons?

Have you tryed to start the Mediaplayer to boost the FPS?

No Joke (works only on Server < Windows2008 )

We using both linux and windows, some mods run much smoother with windows, but if you like to eg. host a eps (1000 FPS) server you have to go with linux. For windows some mods, addons and software updates are quicker available, because most of the DEVs deploy on windows.

If you have a valid licence and not going to host a high performance hlds/srcds or dont have any trouble with it, I would recommend you to stick with windows.
