You can't add the commands to your server.cfg file. You need to go into /tf/cfg/sourcemod and edit the file named sm_surfing_meter.cfg

There does seem to be a problem when having sm_surfing_meter "-1" in the config. No players will see the speedometer until sm_surfing_meter is set to something else and then back to -1 after the server has started.

I would also like to see an option that defaults the speedometer to off, and then players can turn it on with !meter.

Great plugin

^ I can confirm that. Having sm_surfing_meter "-1" and sm_surfing_meter_fastest "1" does not display the fastest person at round end.

Version 1.0.4 Released!
  • As this plugin has finally been approved, I've completely rewritten it and optimized the piss out of it.
  • Fixed previously reported bugs pertaining to the Fastest feature not functioning with OnGameFrame mode enabled.
  • Removed several unnecessary string manipulations from the per client Timer / OnGameFrame to greatly improve performance with multiple users.
  • Removed several incidents of nested if/else statements because it annoyed asherkin.
  • Added functionality for real-time updating, as well as reloading plugin mid-round.
  • Cleaned up ClientPref code so that cookies are properly loaded/saved and at the appropriate time.
  • Removed "Surfing" from all in-game displays and the likes, so the speedometer can be used on non-surf servers.
  • Fixed several minor bugs that wouldn't affect gameplay but were enough to annoy me.
  • Added sm_speedometer_accuracy, which allows you to control the number of floating points used in displays. (0 = Integer, 1 = 1 decimal, n = n decimals)

Version 1.0.5 Released!
  • Added sm_speedometer_default, which allows you to control new client's display status (1 = Enabled, 0 = Disabled)

Notice: The plugin now generates new cvars to sm_speedometer.cfg. You can delete your old sm_surfing_meter.cfg.

Nissehue, please refer to this link: http://forums.alliedmods.net/showpos...64&postcount=8. As for the sound, I'm guessing you're referring to the hud hint sound that was added in the Orange Box update. There's a server cvar, which I believe is sv_hudhint_sound 0 (needs to go in your server.cfg).

Appreciate this command "sv_hudhint_sound 0" I was looking through the source to find out if there was a way to remove that annoying sound.
