Alright, i can't get entmod to work.

I'm running a linux server and this is what i have done,

Put the EntMod folder in addons

added this line in my metamod/plugins.ini file "linux addons/EntMod/dlls/EntMod_i386.so"

According to their guide this is all you have to do to get it to work, but it's not even responding for me.

Is there anything more i have forgotten to do?

PS: I would have asked for help in their forums but it seems to be down.

Yea actually I am going through the same issue. Linux server, downloaded linux version of EntMod from AdminOp, put it in my server, added the linux line in metamod plugins, and the result was a bad file load.
Code:
"[ 2] <EntMod_i386.so badf load EntMod_i386.so v - ini - - "
It sorta sounds to me like they didn't even take the time to go through the coding for linux EntMod. Is there supposed to be a "<" in front of "EntMod_i386.so"? I think it needs a rewrite..I had Ent working before too, like in December; it was the same server too, so idk wtf happened. I have been working on it today too.

Edit:
Here is what Metamod gives me:

Code:
[META] ini: Begin re-reading plugins list: /home/****/ts/addons/metamod/plugins.ini
[META] ini: Read plugin config for: AMX Mod X
[META] WARNING: ini: Plugin '<EntMod_i386.so>' has newer file, but unexpected status (badfile)
[META] ini: Read plugin config for: <EntMod_i386.so>
[META] ini: Finished reading plugins list: /home/****/ts/addons/metamod/plugins.ini; Found 2 plugins
[META] dll: Updating plugins...
[META] WARNING: dll: Failed query plugin '<EntMod_i386.so>'; Couldn't open file '/home/****/ts/addons/EntMod/dlls/EntMod_i386.so': libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[META] WARNING: dll: Skipping plugin '<EntMod_i386.so>'; couldn't query

It would be nice if we got some answers. I tried installing it without metamod, by editting the liblist.gam, still didnt work. Who is going to figure out the problem here? Or is anyone going to care? Because it's an old mod, though people still use it and love it. Please, anyone.

I say fuck Linux.
I issued a Windows TS Server.. no I demanded a Windows Server.
I've had enough of Linux, I can't take it anymore.
I'm coming Windows..we will be together soon! You too Entmod!
We'll be a happy family one day, I promise.

So is Starcraft yet you still see people play that.
The age isn't important here, what's important is that there's a lot of people that still love EntMod and we all should try to help each other out. I find EntMod to be a very good learning experience, it teaches the engine of Half-life. When I started mapping, it was so easy because I knew most of the entities and the basic dimensions for walls/floors: 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024.

So I think it'd be best if you or anyone could just help us out here..thanks.

I think he means like it's outdated in the sense that it doesn't run as well with the engine anymore. The thing hasn't exactly been kept up to date.

Recent updates prevent the ENTMOD to work.

So its exactly as fang stated, and what I've stated.

Which recent updates? What version do you suppose would work with EntMod? I had EntMod working in December, but no longer works. I don't get it.

Okay so I've been talking with drunkenf00l via email and he says I may be missing libraries for EntMod to be working. He gave me this command to get me an output to find what libraries I am missing: ldd EntMod_i386.so

But it didn't work, no output.
I am waiting for his reply on this, I hope he can help me get EntMod working finally. Then maybe getting my EntMod fixed I will release the answer to all of those who have problems getting EntMod running via Linux once for all.
