Hi,

Just a simple idea. Could a plugin be made where the teams are balanced based on the amount of time the teams are uneven? (I run a DM server so rounds are stripped out). Preferably the balance would not be related to rounds at all.

A cvar for auto assign only would be very, very handy for me.

Cvar examples:

sm_playerlimit 2 (How many players one side can have over the opposing team)

sm_timebeforebalance 15 (How many seconds before the plugin balances the teams)

sm_autoassignonly 1/0 (Im assuming this would have to be linked to sm_playerlimit)

Is this a good idea, it would certainly help me out.

As I dont have rounds during the map the standard team balance for css could not balance the teams, for example last night I had 3 Ts v 9 CTs lol

Does the stock mp_autobalance work on spawns, or just rounds?

Anyways, I'm just starting to look at smm, but I do know es stuff, and you could take one of the team balancers and change it from doing the calculations at round end, and do them every x Player_deaths....

If no one around here can help yet, pop over there and ask one of them.
( not trying to support one system over another... just trying to find solutions! )

thanks for posting,

I dont think the standard autobalance balances by x amount of tim, im sure its based on rounds.

I will have to look at es_ but I ideally dont want to run any eventscripts. I think that I will have to run es_ until sourcemod matures.

Do you not think that mani's autoassignonly 1/0 command is a good idea?

I have and it worked great but a few months ago it started crashing the servers at mapchange. Might be fixed now though so ill give it a try again.
However i´m a fan of small plugins that only have one purpose and nothing else. plus, it´s always good to have alternatives if/when one go south =P
