This works in L4D2, but it displays connection at the beginning of every single round. Any way to do it only at the first connect?

by round you mean when the map changes? I havent purchased l4d2 but i assume it works the same as l4d.

What you can try is setting sm_ca_connectdisplaytype to 0 in the cannounce.cfg file in cfg/soucemod. In fact if you could try this for the benefit of other using this pluing in l4d2 i would really appreciate it.

Im just glad it works at all in a new game without any modifications!

Works exactly how I want it in L4D2 with sm_ca_connectdisplaytype to 0 . Only announces on Steam AUTH the first time they connect.

Could someone please provide their .cfg file for this? I'm having a problem that .cfg files do not compile automatically when I put the .smx file in my server's sourcemod plugins folder.

the main config file will get created automatically in cfg/sourcemod when the plugin is first loaded.

Admin Wal*Mart Security <STEAM_0:1x07835> connected from country Unknown (??), IP 174.113.82.198

I have two question, why does it not see where I am from, on my other server with the exact same set up it works?

Is there a way of disabling the Admin part, don't always want ppl knowing I am Admin.

The geoip database included with sourcemod is no infallible, some IPs are missed but if it works one 1 installation i would check the sourcemod installation on the other.

Read the Placeholder Constants section in OP for your other question.

how come when someone joins this happens

Player <PlayerName> <STEAMID> connected from country <country>(??) , IP <PlayerIP>

ok example

Player Asd STEAM:1:0:12345678 connected from country Hong Kong(HK), IP 127.0.0.1

but for me this happens on my server

Player ASD (STEAM:1:0:12345679) connected from country Unknown (??) , IP (0.0.0.0) and so on

is it geoip's problem?
