I'm stuck at work before christmas and it's boring as hell!!

Please entertain me!!!!

For a while now, I've wanted to try and fix a problem with flashlights in CS:GO and release a nice !flashlight plugin.

So most of us know, for CSGO you can use the client console command "impulse 100" to toggle your flashlight when mp_flashlight is set to 1.

Say you have a big zombie map as an example. If players whom have a flashlight enabled run into an area where you can no longer see them (visleaf), the players flashlight sprite becomes stuck at where they crossed into the non visible leaf.

So I'm thinking a good fix would be.

1. Detecting when a player enters a new visleaf (not even sure if its possible)
2. Toggling off impulse and toggling it back on the next frame

Any thoughts from anyone?

Add FL_EDICT_ALWAYS to the players my friend,
and have flashlight fun, that will never end!

(FYI you're not really my friend, iirc you're kind of a dick but I'm stuck with this rhyme challenge so that being nice and helpful isn't too boring)

Watch out when you're paying people for private requests! Most stuff already exists and you can hardly assess the quality of what you'll get, and if it's worth the money.

Hmm, correct me if im wrong.

Wouldnt this mean that all player movements are sent to all clients?

Meaning, this would enable wallhacks across entire maps / break the new occlusion stuff Valve introduced a while back to reduce wallhack effectiveness?

Yes, the traffic will spike and the cost is quite high,
but if you do this instead, then your end may be neigh.

Thats exactly what I'm after.

Now I wonder if any of this this exposed for use in SM?

Looks like I would have to write a MetaMod plugin (which is way outside of my skillset).

Does anyone have any other ideas of how to resolve the rouge ghost flashlight sprites as players move outside of a PVS set?

There's already ways around that, so it shouldn't be something stopping you.

I do have a flashlight plugin i made 2 years ago..
But it still has issues like that.
