As one of the many server operators that offers HLStatsX:CE for our game servers, I'm finding it difficult to support and update the platform.

The frontend is PHP 7 which is now EOL, so I am at a crossroads what to do going forward.

Whilst it's indeed possible to keep running with the current PHP version and the Perl backend, I'm contemplating a port to a more longterm solution - namely a .NET web and backend. Of course it will be cross platform for Windows and Linux.

I appreciate the path to accomplish that is vast given both sides of the code, plus the bugs support, but I'm willing to kick it off.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I would warmly welcome such a port, however you should know that it's probably quite some work and you'll be soloing it.

The backend is likely the easiest part to translate, the frontend however (which is what needs attention first due to EOL/support) is going to be somewhat time consuming.

Yep. It will certainly be a solo effort until a viable solution comes. But I'm certainly willing to start it. After that I hope it will entice others to participate (it will be hosted on GitHub).

The front-end is more of a priority.

Work is underway.

It's slow progress so far due to work commitments, but some screens to show that this isn't vaporware

It is written to be 100% compatible with existing hlstats databases.


Styling, etc will follow.
