First of all, hello everyone this is Krishnan,

let me come to my point,
I used SRCDS tool to create a server. The instruction i got it from Here.


my server doesn't appear in my internet or my lan tab.
i gave them my external ip and in the console connect my ip; but still people can't connect to my server. it says failed after four tries. even i can't connect to my server

i am behind a router. i did Port forwarding likewise told in Here

ports forwarded:
Both(UDP/TCP) 1200
Both 27000-27015
Both 27020-27039

now my server is appears in my lan tab. but it is not appearing in my internet tab. also i can't connect to my server.not even my friends can connect my server with my external ip.it says connection failed after 4 tries? i don't know wat the problem is. is it with the port or something i don't know. ???

-console -game cstrike -tickrate 33 -ip 192.168.1.4 -port 27015 -maxplayers 16 +map de_dust2 -auto update -verify_all . this is wat in srcds shortcut target.
now a prob arises. my server is saying steam validation rejected.(when i try to connect to it)

Hi mate,

A few things about your srcds shortcut command-line parameters.

33 Tickrate is default and hence if you are using default, then it does not need setting. You only need to set it if you are raising the Tickrate to 66 or 100 etc.

-autoupdate only works on Linux and does nothing on Windows.

-verify_all is used for verifying all your server files during an update/installation and can take a while to perform as it checks all server official content and should not be used as a startup parameter. It is best to use the -verify_all as part of your updating procedures or if you are having problems and want to check the server files etc. The Server should be offline when using -verify_all.

Try this revised command-line

-console -game cstrike -ip 192.168.1.4 -port 27015 +map de_dust2 +maxplayers 16

Have you noticed his IP is his LAN ip? Go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and get your ip. Use that IP in your command line.

He said he had obtained his IP from findmyip.com which also give's you the right IP, hence i left the IP as it was.

External ip got from (http://www.findmyip.com)

192.168.1.4 = lan IP. Internal. If you have the server on seccond PC running, you could go in your router, and give that PC your external IP. In that case you have no problems with portforwarding. I did it that way, and works perfect.

i put my external ip in the command line but it says couldn't allocate UDP port and the screen exits..

i even did port forwarding!!!

help me with the port forwarding pls

which 1 should i use (UDP or TCP)
1200 UDP or TCP
27000 -27015 UDP or TCP
27020-27039 UDP or TCP

hmm. my port that are opened look like this:
TCP1200 - 12001200 - 1200--

UDP1200 - 12001200 - 1200--

TCP27000 - 2701527000 - 27015--

UDP27000 - 2701527000 - 27015--

TCP27020 - 2703927020 - 27039--

UDP27020 - 2703927020 - 27039
before it did'nt work properly, rcon was like could not connect to remote server (0.0.0.0:0)
try opening port's so it look's like this. what does your server cfg look like? does it have "sv_lan" anywhere? also, you said "steam invalid rejection. this is because you have a ilegal copy of css. and your srcds need's to be cracked to get it working with non-steam. pm me, and i will send you the files you need

when i use my external ip in the SRCDS shortcut command line. It says couldn't allocate dedicated UDP port. I even Did the Port forwarding..!

Read through the link and check your settings as you go and double check that you have done everything correctly.
