Only tested on Ubuntu 19.04/Ubuntu 19.10 & Debian 10(Buster)

**You can't install tuned on Debian 9, dunno why!

tuned is not needed for a lower var... there is only one command in tuned profiles which lowers the var:

cpu_latency=1

try make a profile with only this command. the var will goes down instantly to 0.001

tuned is not needed, just add this to grub.cfg and do "sudo update-grub" and reboot.

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="intel_idle.max_cs tate=0 processor.max_cstate=1 idle=poll intel_pstate=disable"

it gives you 0.001 -> 0.005 as well

tested several times some kernels and stock kernels with tuned and other stuff. with active tuned profile "latency-performance" the sv is a bit higher 0,5-1,0.

Depends on how many game servers is running, and what slots + game mode; retake, 1v1arena or just clan wars/pracc

Normally it's 0.000-0.005 (var) with correct kernel version + tuned-adm profile latency-performance. - But often, so will "vanilla gameserver" running as 0.000-0.002 (if gameserver will!)

Without using Kernel/Tuned or edited on the grub file. it will jump to 0.030-0.090 (Regardless, when the server is running balanced mode)

Screenshots:
This is from a retake server! ;) - As an example, what it can run (with latency-performance + Kernel!) CPU: i7-9700K

This is from a vanilla server with sourcemod - As an example, what it can run (with balanced + Kernel!) CPU: i9-9900K It will jump between 0.040-0.060
So no matters what, i9-9900K can run 0.000-0.005 if it wants (only with latency-performance.)

It works, but dont expect the same results as i7 and i9 x'D, no var 0.0000-0.0001 since xeon has low frequency, but atleast even the server full there no red and sv issues and thats great

Correct, it's because, Xeon E3/E5 don't have highest STR(Single Thread Performance)

Great, to hear it works, but yeah, it's only possible with low var, if CPU was I7, i9 or Ryzen.

Does this work for 3700x on Ubuntu 18.04 installed via Hyper-V?

I would love to push the performance of my servers by lowering the var as much as possible.

Currently on stock kernel, it sometimes pushes the var to 1 for a split second before going back to the range of 0.03-0.2
