I am trying to figure out for what port 27005 and 27020 are being used.

I am am correct the default port 27015 is being used for the game client to connect to the server, can be changed with (-port).

Also when I start the server another port is being used: 26901, I was able to change this port with -steamport, if I am correct this port is being used to advertise the dedicated server to the steam server list?

Now I am not sure for what the ports 27005 and 27020 are being used and how to change this, does anyone have some information about them, I tried to google them but there is so much information, yet no answer to my question.

ok so you have opened those ports and you dont know what is using it! look on your Router you should be able to see IP Address to MAC Address list i have a Aztech 700WR-3G Router for DSL. look at the IP of the pc you have forwarded to surely you should be able to do that...

I dont care who is using those ports, quite easy to figure out with netstat -a -n -o and then figure out which PID is part of which application with the windows task manager. (they are part of the srcds.exe process which is CSGO)

I would like to know what those ports do, and how to change the 27005 and 27020 ports to something else.

The documentation I've found so far is absolutely useless. Everyone can open ports, I would like to know what they are used for.

As a kinda related note: You can disable SourceTV usage with the -nohltv parameter.

If 27015 (-port) is used to connect to when joining the server, then what is 27005 exactly used for, I can join my server without opening that port.

U dont need to open this Port, but IT IS USED - Its for the Server Query, without it your Server wont have any Query Data and also dosent gets listed in the Server Bowser
