Webmod not starting

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid.
Using the archive from the official webmod website I didn't manage to make it work.
I compiled it using the sources and it worked from the hlds's point of view.
Still... when I type http://server:27015 in my browser I only see this message: FATAL ERROR: no index.w in root dir
It seems the djeyl are down, for good I think, so I posted here. Can you guys help out?
If there is no solution to my problem, is there a webmod alternative ?

wmod is a security risk for you server

you should think twice before use it

i don't know any free web based control panel , but from your error i'd say that your w folder is incomplet

INSTALLATION

Unzip this file in your mod's directory ("cstrike" for example).

It will create those directories :
- addons/w : webmod base dir
- addons/w/dlls : win32 & linux binaries
- addons/w/docs : documentation (html format)
- addons/w/www : web server root dir with .w pages
- addons/w/www/mappics : some Counter-Strike map screenshots
- addons/w/www/includes : some .inc files included by .w pages

Edit your addons/metamod/plugins.ini and add the following 2 lines
(start, middle, end of file : no matter) :

win32 addons/w/dlls/w_mm.dll
linux addons/w/dlls/w_mm_i386.so

Now you just have to restart your server ! Enjoy :-)

Yup, webmod has some big flaws. You can use HLSW for administration.
For web adminstration try something from here or phpUA.
