Hi, i would create a website wich give the logged in visitors via steam a welcome message: Welcome User: ........ from the country ......

I know a few things are possible with the steamwebapi. So i have tested several scripts with my own steam webapi. So i found a script, wich use Java and a JSON-File to get the backpack-data for Team Fortress 2. Also written down on valve-dev-wiki.

But im not a Java-programmer. So i will use it for PHP and SQL additions.
All i need is a script wich give me a PHP variable, that included the username, land, Steamid, Steamprofilsite,..... from the visitor.

I will not use scipts, wich works with a server plugin, like this:
http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=1387386 (Dynamic MotD Plugin)

I will build a website on wich steamusers can logged in. Without any gameserver. I think the webapi with "Sign in through steam" button is the best way. But i need the PHP Vars to program. It must be also a secure method to handle the vars. So not like the Dynamic MotD Plugin wich give this link: http://example.com/motd.php?communityid={FRIEND_ID}&name={NAME}
and all User can change the "Friend_ID" or "Name".

If someone can help, it would be nice.

You could start off by checking where you are actually posting. Then you could read the rules, and the stickies in the forum you want to post in.

This website has got steam authentication for users to register, try registering and you should be redirected to a steam auth page, I think it links to the source or something

Oh sorry, i had only see the topic "Script help", not the category topic.
But i can't move the thread, cause i have not the rights to do this. If some mod can move this thread in Offtopic or something, it would be nice.
Thanks.

@The Art of War
Thanks it lokks like a mod for a board. I found several API-Mods for Wordpress and other CMS, but they use a other API-System.

How is it unuseful and not helpful? As mentioned there, all you need is an OpenID lib and use http://steamcommunity.com/openid.
