Hey guys I waould like do know what the best Map Rotation would be for DM to keep the server going!

Personally, I think that would be more along the lines of being a personal opinion, not something someone could tell you.

But you could always use Mani Mod to allow a random map vote close to the end of each map, that way its a more varied server. But its all up to you.

Just a thought.

i use dust_2 to fill the server....people love that map. italy and cobble are good too. most maps are great, they just need to be large.

Like Kenty said...it's a matter of personal prefrence. IMHO, I think that Valve maps (std scrim maps like dust, office, etc.) aren't that great for DM, but that's my opinion.

I only run a 16-slot server so I sway towards smaller maps. FWIW, my rotation currently is:

aim_ag_texture
dm_battlecreek_v3
fy_killerarena_css
aim_shotty
fy_funtimes
fy_iceworld_arena

I have mp_fraglimit 80 and with this set when the server is near capacity the average time to reach the fraglimit so that the map will end and change is about 15 minutes.

I don't have CSSDM on all the time. I've setup batch jobs and scheduled them to net stop my nt service that runs my CSS server to copy CSSDM files and Regular files so that CSSDM is only on my server between 1:00pm to 30PM and 7:00PM to 90PM CST.

This is my mapcycle I use a mp_fraglimit of 100, map changes about every 20 minutes or so. My server is packed most of the time they love the fy type maps for cssdm.

Yo Viper,

Wow, that's a nice rotation! Did you do your own spawnpoints for these? If so about how many per map? You mind zipping your map folder up with the spawn txt files and posting them?

Thanks Lex,
I haven't gotten around to making spawn points for those maps yet, but since I use TDM on my server it tends to work out well without them. If I do get around to doing them I will surely post to to that thread. A few of the maps I used were done already by kenty...thank you!!..fy_funtimes..fy_iceworld_arena and aim_ag_texture.
