Hello.

I friend of mine tried to install SourceBans onto my server, but it seems a get a strange error, so any tips or hints would be great. :-)

"Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock"

Has anyone a solution to this problem? I would be really greatful, thanks!. ♥

Have you tried using an IP for the SQL Server instead of a Hostname (or the other way around)?

Had this strange issue once.
Could not make it work any other way, so I made workaround by making symbolic link from /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock to /tmp/mysql.sock. x)
OS: Debian 6.0

I've googled a lot, and sent the things to the one who is helping me, so far he said he tried that all ready, he tried for 2 hours after this error was there, so i guess he tried quite a lot.

Any other suggestions? What did you do to solve your problem? :-)

And also important.. what is the problem here?

Gameservers uses Linux.

I have a TF2 server with Gameservers and when I use the IP as the host in the databases.cfg file, it works just fine.

Have you tried contacting Support yet?
